[1] RELEASE OF MINDFIRE’S OPTICHANNEL PLATFORM
If you’ve been in the MindFire family for some time, you’ve probably heard of (or used) the MindFire Studio and/or MindFire Da Vinci products.
Both interfaces are used by many clients and have helped our commercial printers, agencies, and B2B/B2C brands grow their brand, generate more leads, and drive sales for many years.
But what we’ve realized is that we’ve made it difficult for you to use the best of both products, since they were separate interfaces.
Very soon, that’s no longer the case!
Both will now be available from a single, unified OptiChannel Platform. This platform is live with a set of beta customers now; you can see more in this video:
[2] MICROSOFT SILVERLIGHT SUPPORT & THE RELEASE OF THE WORKFLOW DESIGNER
As you may know, the user interface of MindFire Studio was developed in Microsoft Silverlight, which Microsoft will stop developing and supporting on October 12, 2021.
Anticipating that, we are nearing the launch of our web-based replacement, which is called the Workflow Designer. It is available in the unified platform mentioned above.
For those of you that have been using the Silverlight version of Studio to develop campaigns, here is an introductory video that discusses the changes in the user interface associated with the web-based Workflow Designer, as compared to its Silverlight-based predecessor.
FAQS
Can I still use MindFire Studio (Silverlight)?
Yes. You can use the Studio Silverlight product for as long as you like, however, because Microsoft will drop support of their product, we will instead do all new development in the web-based Workflow Designer.
Are the new features in Workflow Designer backward compatible with MindFire Studio (Silverlight)?
No. All new features added to the new Workflow Designer will not be backward compatible with the Studio Silverlight version. The good news is that in order to migrate to the Workflow Designer, no changes are required to your existing Programs.
